Move past your past.

From the outside looking in, people assume you have it all together. But inside, it feels like a different story. You thought you came to terms with your past, but negative thoughts keep popping up.

These thoughts include:
“There’s something wrong with me.”
“I’m not good enough.”
“I don’t feel connected to myself or anyone else.”

These negative thoughts do not define you, but you’re starting to feel the effects in your relationships with other people. There’s a sense of loneliness you just can’t shake, and you don’t know why.

What if your childhood was difficult, chaotic, or even abusive?

It can feel confusing to think about where your pain comes from, but your relationships with your caregivers set the foundation for your relationship roadmap. They show you, at an early age, how to love and be loved.

If those early relationships involved verbal abuse, inconsistency, emotional abandonment, neglect, or manipulation, your relationship GPS may feel like it’s on the fritz. Relationships can feel dangerous or unpredictable to you now, like there is a steep, unseen cliff around the corner.

You didn’t have control then, but you do now.

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a powerful approach to therapy that can allow you to heal from distressing life experiences.

EMDR is not a quick fix, but an eight-phase treatment that uses eye movements, or other bilateral stimulation, to target, process, and heal painful or stressful memories and feelings.

Transformation is possible—even if you’ve been struggling for years.

After going through EMDR, you may feel a sense of peace, freedom, and grounded understanding. Therapy doesn’t change the past, but it can give you space and distance from it.

You may start to feel like you’ve built a safe, protective bubble around yourself that allows you to be less reactive in difficult situations or more confident in expressing your needs. You can break the cycle you’ve experienced and show your family a different template for loving and living.
